Quality, limits, and honesty
JPG artifacts (blocky skies, ringing around text) remain in the PNG. Conversion does not “restore RAW quality.”
PNG will not add a real alpha channel to a photo that never had one. For cutouts, use an editor with a mask.

Will JPG to PNG make the photo sharper?+
No. PNG only stops further JPEG damage. Softness and blocks from the original JPG stay in the pixels.
Why is the PNG bigger than the JPG?+
Lossless PNG has to describe every pixel. JPEG threw information away to stay small. Bigger is normal.

Can I convert JPEG and JPG the same way?+
Yes. .jpg and .jpeg are the same format as far as this tool is concerned.
